Planning Permission Checklist

Use this checklist to organise your information before preparing a planning application. Requirements vary by local planning authority, so always check the local validation list.

Checklist beside architectural drawings

Before you start

  • Confirm whether planning permission is needed or a permitted development / prior approval route may apply
  • Check the planning history of the site
  • Identify designations: conservation area, listed building, Green Belt, flood zone
